How does feedback work?
Buyers are allowed to leave feedback after a match is made and a buyer's credit card is charged. Buyers can provide feedback to sellers on three dimensions:
- Was the purchased item as described?
- Did the item arrive within a reasonable time frame, given shipping method and distance?
- Was communication with the seller friendly, helpful, and responsive?
Buyers can rate sellers from 1 to 5 on these three questions.
How does a buyer's feedback affect my Seller Rating?
Seller Ratings combine buyer feedback responses with information about the buyer's profile information, number of previous transactions, and previous disputes (if any) to calculate these ratings. New sellers on Dawdle have a default rating of 3.0 stars.
How do I dispute feedback?
Sellers may contact Dawdle using the "Contact Us" link from the Help section to dispute feedback. While Dawdle will review your dispute, we may not choose to revise or remove the feedback left by buyers at our sole discretion. Again, buyers cannot see individual feedback on Dawdle; they can only see your calculated Seller Rating, which includes feedback as one of many factors.
How can I improve my Seller Rating?
The best way to have a great Seller Rating on Dawdle is to give your customers excellent customer service. However, here are some details that can help you out:
- Feedback is the start of our Seller Rating, not the end. Good feedback is necessary, but not sufficient, to go from three stars to four stars or even five stars.
- Obviously, the more feedback, the better.
- We look at your feedback in relation to all other sellers on the site, both as a whole and on each of the individual three dimensions we talk about on http://www.dawdle.com/help/index.php/sell-feedback/.
- On top of feedback, we look at a number of other factors - how long you've been on Dawdle (longer is better), if you've put in Xbox Live, PSN, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. data in MyDawdle, how soon do you mark as shipped after an item has been sold, do you use Delivery Confirmation or not, and some other factors that we don't disclose.
Our Seller Rating calculation is our "13 herbs and spices", if you will. We'll give you general guidance, but we won't tell you our recipe, as it changes constantly as we look at additional data. Google doesn't disclose everything about how it ranks pages, but it does give people some best practices. That's how we approach it. As long as you do the right things, your Seller Rating will remain high, no matter how we tweak our formula.
