  1. So, what exactly is Dawdle?

Dawdle is the easiest way to buy and sell your video games, systems, and accessories anywhere. Think of us as eHarmony for video games. Or TicketsNow for video games. Or Priceline for video games. We're kind of a combination of all of them - which is why sometimes we say we're Dawdle for video games.

  2. Where should I start?

Here are some links that you should check out:

How to Buy: Here you can get an overview of how to make a bid for an item you want on Dawdle. Remember, on Dawdle, your bid is good for every single listing - no need to scroll through a bunch of listings or auctions to find what you want. Users just tell us what they want up front, and we'll find the sellers for them!

How to Sell: You can learn a bit more about selling here. Once a user is all set up, you can add listings in seconds - not minutes or hours. Again, we charge no listing fees or per-transaction fees. Our commission of 11.99% is less than any other site that handles payments on behalf of sellers automatically. Other sites usually charge 15%, and some tack on a per-transaction fee.

MyDawdle: MyDawdle is a very powerful tool - users can manage all their bids, listings, and personal information here. Remember, users can always change, edit, or remove your bids and listings at any time. Users can also see all the items they've won or that they've sold.

  3. So how is Dawdle different than those other sites?

First and foremost, we've built Dawdle from the ground up for gamers. We don't just ask for condition - which never tells the full story - we also ask what an items comes with, and we use terms that gamers already use. This makes it easier to list, especially for our independent store partners across the country. We make sure you get exactly what you want -- the game, the manual, the box, the controller, the power adapter, or whatever. All of our listings and conditions are designed to work with the way that gamers buy and sell already.

Next, our unique, proprietary Intelligent Matching Engine means that buyers never have to worry about getting sniped and sellers don't have to worry about their listings getting lost in a morass of pages and pages of listings. Buyers can screen to only see the listings that match their criteria - no other site makes it as easy to pinpoint exactly what you're looking for.

Even better, our matching system is smart enough to not just do exact matches. We know that if you place a bid for a game disc only that you'd be happy to get the disc and the box too for the same price. That's why all matches on Dawdle are for what the buyer specifies -- or better. That means that if you're a seller, we're able to find you a buyer that's willing to meet your price for whatever you have.

Last on our list, there's no PayPal two step. We handle all the payment processing, so buyers don't have to go through a separate checkout process and sellers always get paid for their sales. There are no surprises - no additional shipping and handling fees, insurance costs, upselling pages, or anything else. We've streamlined the process for everyone.

There's plenty more, but that's probably enough for now. We think Dawdle's a simpler, easier way to get what you want or sell what you have -- to borrow a line from a very wise man, you "set it and forget it." When we make a match, we send both the buyer and the seller an e-mail letting them know that an item has sold, so you don't have to keep coming back to Dawdle.

  4. What's the business model?

We take 11.99% of the total value of the transaction for our fee. This covers all payment processing costs, hosting, data licensing, and other costs and leaves us a significant gross margin. Of course, we're not competing on price. We standardize shipping costs and make it easier to list items for sale and purchase items. We believe our advantage comes from our ease of use and peace of mind.
