This stand-alone "expansion" brings a number of enhancements and new features to 2002's surprise hit turn-based strategy game Disciples II: Dark Prophecy. In addition to the major campaigns featured in the original release, Disciples II: Servants of the Dark includes two additional "mini-campaigns," which are geared toward higher-level characters that may have already experienced the original story.
This release's new stories let players choose to command either the Legions of the Damned or the Undead Horde, in an evil struggle to wrest control of the fantasy world from good and benevolent rivals. The Damned strive to spread plague and disease to all regions, while the Undead toy with forces that could upset the balance of life as we know it.
Aside from the two mini-campaigns, other notable features include new music tracks, new capital backgrounds, and three new special characters, as well as better artificial intelligence, an improved Scenario Editor, and a smoother interface. The release of the evil-themed Servants of the Dark follows that of its companion game, the good-oriented Disciples II: Guardians of the Light. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
